Pulley Question

Considering to buy the Ralco Pulleys from ebay, but have been afraid of installing them myself. What kind of installation expense would I be looking at?

Yeah, I might as well get NST since the price isn't too much of a difference, but how much would it cost to install do you think?

I got my UR installed for CAD$75, which I think is a super good deal.

I cant give you a figure but I installed mine myself and the work involved isnt much, too me 45 minutes by myself. So i would imagine well under $75 USD at any reputable shop.

Since when? I know people with Ralco pulleys on their TSXs and they are fine.

NST has horror stories. UR and Ralco are identical. One just costs 3x as much

Not really sure what the deal is with posting links, seems kinda silly

for one example

Though I'm sure there are many more for each of the 3 brands in question. Whatever, I'd just assume see UR do like they did on other engines and just offer lighter pulleys stock diameter; but that's just me.

I just read that thread, even though I've seen it before on the other forum. I need some feedback from someone who has this product. I know the "brand name" matters, but that was about a different unit(short shifter), I wonder what the pulleys are like.

Has anyone used the Alutec crank pulley? It's OEM sized, but obviously lighter.

What kind of gains can one expect with *just* a lighter OEM sized crank pulley vs going underdrive, or a full underdrive/overdrive pulley set replacement?

I have a stock diameter lightweight NST crank pulley. You will net a pretty good gain from it, but not as much as with a full underdrive kit. I plan on going with the UR pulley kit soon as I no longer have plans to supercharge my TSX. Going to boost the Si instead

On a side note, I notice NST no longer offers the "Crank Lite" pulley. Contact "Mike" at NST and see if he could custom make you one if you wish to go that route.

NST has been reported with problems? What kind of problems? Well NST is about $200 and the UR Pulleys are $330 but it comes with all 3 pulleys. Hmmm now I'm not sure if I'll do this mod.

So.. keep your eye on ebay, or see if our vendor can match the US$260 price it sells at.

may not mean anything to you guys...

but i have been running the ralco UD pullies on my accord for about 8 months... not one problem... overall awesome mod on the k24a4 and is about $100 cheaper than the unorthadox pullies

install was $100....but took so long it ended up being $125
the garage doing the install absolutely needs a 3/4" air gun.... or else yur gonna have to take yur crank case off and have a breaker bar on the actual crank....and another breaker bar on the pulley

took them like 1.5 hours to do
