HELP from those who have done Hondata reflash and removed the immobilizer!!

Need some serious help here! I took out the 2 front screws holding the ring out no problem, BUT the 3rd screw holding the ring facing up is what "screwed me" literally! I've burred the screw to the point where you can't even turn it anymore. I guess I should have asked for this earlier but how did you guys take that 3rd screw behind the ring out?? I was facing upside down on my back for the life of me trying to unscrew it but it wouldn't give and at that angle it was hard trying to put pressure on the screw.

My dilemma now, I'm looking at that last screw and it looks like I can carefully cut that plastic piece off, should I just do that... it doesn't look like I have any other options for removing that screw cause it's been so beat up... help please!

In this picture they were able to get that back screw to face back, how did they get that whole ring portion to face up like that?? The only way it looked possible for me was to be on my back and while doing that I burred the screw... Please help I am suppose to have this all removed and given to the Advance Power House tomorrow morning ready to ship to Hondata

i've never done it, just seen the diy's and the hondata instructions.

since you already burred the head, i would think trying a screw extractor would be a better step than cutting the plastic. cutting would be a final resort imo.

The screw extractor is a good idea but the philips screw is really tiny and less than 1 inch deep so I don't know if that will work... Worse case scenario I could just say forget about the reflash...

Any chance you can grab the screw head with some small pliers?

How about cutting a groove into the screwhead with a dremel so you can turn it out with a small flat screwdriver?

Cut off the head of the screw with a dremel, remove the immobolizer & then turn out the screw with pliers?

If you break off the plastic tab of the immobolizer, you should be able to use a dab of clear silicon to hold that corner in place when you reinstall it. It's not like you will be in there on a regular basis.

Get the Hondata reflash at all costs. I wish I was in GTA to get mine done.

Good luck, don't give up.... ...Joe
