The resonator is used to further reduce noise emissions which the OE system itself is already virtually silent. While adding more resonators will definitely increase restrictions and yes, some power loss depending on big the resonator is.
Thanks noel for the reply well i dont have a stock exhaust i have a tanabe hyper medallion and the thing is i recently installed a high flow cat and it has gotten louder and has a buzzing sound so i was wondering if i add another resonator to the exhaust would it quiet the exhaust down but i dont want to lose power. I was planning on using a fujitsubo resonator that i had saved. What do you think.
Yes, the resonator will reduce the noise output. You will expect to lose power for that regardless whether you were to use a generic sized resonator or a Fujitsubo resonator.
