Intake fuel economy
Can anyone that has done any kind of air induction mods give me results they have seen with fuel economy? I've heard both that an air intake helps with gas mileage and that it kills your gas mileage... any real results would help. I have an '04 6MT.

lol..from my experience..intake does NOT help with mileage..what comes along with cold air intake is a very nice deep growl..and for me..i'm all about it so i want to hear it a lot..therefore a WOT a lot..thus poor gas mileage..

From what i read so far..... it just depends how you drive.... like Phase said, if you want to here the large growl, you will eventually rev your engine more~

I agree. If your engine sounds like it has more performance and you like the way it sounds when you throttle it, you will use more gas. I bet though on a road trip, if your using cruise control your car will be more fuel efficient.

From a Technical Standpoint, a CAI mod will give you better Gas Milage... thats if you continue to drive like an old lady with it in...
Unfortunately the Sound Turns most of us into Mario Andretti's and Steve McQueen's... which isnt so great for Fuel Economy...

It actually saves gas if you drive normally?? Like under 2 or 2.5 k rpm?? Damn... that's a great excuse for me to get it then....hahha, get intake to save gas!

For CAI how risky is it for it to suck up water? CAI are more effective than SRI but if the risks of sucking in water are high, like, even water splashing onto the filter, then its not worth it. What do you guys think?

You need to completly submurge a section of the filter while driving at Wide Open Throttle, between the way the filters are designed and the TSX's Bumper... this should not be an issue unless you enjoy driving through lakes at WOT
