Want to increase low end torque

I have an auto TSX and I want to get some opinions about mods that are good for the auto TSX.

I know the auto TSX has more low end torque rather than the 6-sp high end hp. So I decided to start off by getting even more torque.

I know SRI and CAI are only good for high end gains, does a Comptech Icebox address low end torque and hp? Are there any other mods?

Any suggestions would help!

Since you're talking about air intakes. The Mugen and Gruppe M carbon airbox - are designed for low-mid torque and power gains as opposed to the CAI/SRI mid-high end gains.

I didn't see much low end torque gain w/ my comptech icebox. I have not dynoed it but just from the seat of the pants feel there was not much torque gain. I did see a good mid to high end torque gain from the skunk 2 exhaust though. I think added low end torque will be hard to come by in the auto TSX unless Comptech ever finally releases their S/C.

Mugen and Gruppe M?

Damn I don't wanna spend like $1000 on an intake. I guess I'll stick with my stock airbox.

There was minimal performance gain, I did see a difference but not much. As far as the sound it was a good change, it got louder but not way louder so that suited me just fine. So it is not a waste of time, but I feel you will see more gains and sound from other intakes such as Injen and Fujita. It all depends on what you are looking for. Also it is cheaper than the other intakes to that is a plus.

Is there any other way to get some more low end torque?

Apart from the intake, the exhaust manifold and catback exhaust can also increase torque with the correction selection type.

I did a search here and other forums. Among headers DC and Comptech seem to be the favorites. I guess DC has some quality problems early on and they fixed it (hopefully). Comptech is more expensive, less gains, but is more reliable. What do you personally suggest?

Neither, I'd highly recommend the MaximWorks aka M-Bit exhaust manifold instead.

Match this with a Mugen catback and you'd be very much impressed with the torque gains in particular.

So nice...but way out of my price range

Wow that's a work of art. I saw in the linked thread that this is in the $1400-1500 range. Quite a bit more than I wanted to spend but I'm willing to save up for it if the price/performance ratio is better than DC/Comptech. I'm not looking for absolute top performance, just the best bang for my buck.

Can't comment whether if this is a best bang for your buck product. But it is a competition/racing category equipment so you can expect only the best. MaximWorks is the only manufacturer that makes all JGTC GT500 exhaust manifolds for most teams that also make products for "selected" road going cars. It doesn't get any better than that in short.

Maxim works... Don't they use to make Mugen headers? so is that why Mugen never released a header for the TSX?

Is that header a bolt-on for CL9?
