Question 6MT, At what RPM do you shift?

Hi,

At what RPM do you shift in normal driving?
For instance

1->2 3.5K
2->3 3.5K
3->4 4K
4->5 4K
5->6 4.5K

For saving fuel, and around city:
1-2 > 3 k
2-3 > 2.5 k
3-4 > 2 k
4-5 > 2 k
5-6 > 2.5 k (I do this so I don't lug the engine)

For frisky driving
1-2 > 5 k
2-3 > 4 k
3-4 > 3 k
4-5 > 3 k
5-6 > 3 k

If you look at your owners' manual, it will tell you that to get the best fuel milege is to shift @ 3000 rpm through ALL gears, 1 through 6. But when to shift depends on really how you want to drive your car.

I normally shift between 3 and 3.5K unless I'm really looking to be conservative, then its 2.5 - 3K...

I shift around 3k, per the manual, when I'm just tooling around town. I shift at the redline (7100 or so) when I'm in it.
