^--That's true. The CF lips are more fragile for load, and it will crack the clear if not the whole lip, but just like anything on the front of a lowered car, if it can brake it will.

I've never really seen real carbon fibre "crack" Thats not to say they cant be damaged but they will hold up pretty well to scraping, so long as it flexes. ABS plastic is the worst because it will shatter and crack easily. I bought an ABS lip for my accord, one pot hole and the thing was destroyed. The best material for a lip is polyurethane cuz it flexes rather than being rigid like ABS and should hold up better to scraping as well. Regardless, if it comes in carbon fiber I'd risk it for the looks and just be a little more careful when going over bumps

It depends on the compound you are talking about on the ABS. ABS on a BMW is brittle and cracks when you look at it sideways. ABS that cheap body kit companies use is so flexy it warps in the sun.
I was referring the the ABS that Honda uses for their bumpers, sides, and lips. It is flexy enough not to crack but holds shape really well. IMO it is by far the best material to make lips out of. Polyurethane is too flexy to make a good quality part that lasts a long time. Maybe the lip you got was FRP?
For CF, no the fiber itself doesn't crack, but the resin does. It hardens and gets brittle, so yeah if you bonk something it is going to effect it.

It was definitely some kind of ABS. The company I bought it from was called ABSdynamics lol. But it must have been close to the stuff you say BMW uses, cuz that thing just shattered into like 3 big pieces and a bunch of little splinters... it was cheap tho so I wasnt TOO mad lol, besides that car is just a distant memory now.
and to stay on topic, BUMP! lets get this rolling guys!!! no committment required, just sign the petition... even if you just want to see what it looks like.

+1 I had ABSdynamics before and it cracked. It's just as brittle if not more brittle than CF.
Let's keep this on topic.

I would take one for my 04 TSX if they get made, and this will go right on the stock bumper, no lip needed other then the CF lip correct ??

I'm down, '05. Hopefully this is just the beginning and they can develop other cf parts for our cars, just like they did w/the Fit! Canards and rear diffuser would be nice

Exactly what I was thinking.
I hope that we can show them that there is a big market for TSX parts.
