No TPMS on winter tires?

After reading on users that did not install TPMS into their winter tire rims, they said they are unable to turn the VSA off, and that frightens me......have any member on here put winter tires on without the TPMS?

I have an 08 and the service advisor told me I would not be able to turn VSA off, but I still could after installing aftermarket steelie rims. So maybe for the older models you cannot turn it off?

I'm not following.

I'm quite sure the VSA has nothing to do with the TPMS.

VSA operation or function should not change if you install wheels with no TPMS sensors.

You're over-thinking the TPMS system. Temporarily install your spare (which has no TPMS sensor) on the rear of your car & test things out.
You'll see how the TPMS reacts & how the VSA reacts.
