Eff oem wheel lock keys...

so i was up pretty late last night adjusting my ride height when all of a sudden, when i was tightening my lugs, the freakin OEM wheel lock key snaps on me O.O anyways since i was working on the back two at the same time...i had no key to tighten my back two wheel locks...irritated as *#Y&$(@ i woke up the next morning, called acura, and asked them how much to get a replacement (freakin $18)...anyways i went there got a new one, went to tighten my locks and guess what...stripped again...(oh btw im not using an impact wrench or anything...just a standard X-shaped lug wrench)....sooo feeling like WTF i went back to the parts store and demanded a new one but the freakin guy was like I can SELL you a new one with a fat ass attitude...pissed off i was like give me 4 lugs then i dont want to use your bullsh*t locks anyways only again waiting to hear that he can SELL me them...so i straight up was like you guys didnt give me my lugs when i bought the car so as a customer i think i have the right to get my factory lugs back _ _" well he ended up giving me regular lugs but until i got home i didnt realize that the damn threads like freakin used up...oh well whatevers they work fine but now i still need to find a key to take off the front ones...

well aside from all the nonsense i wrote up there, what kind of lugs or locks should i get?

OEM lugs sit different than tuner lugs. Tuner lugs are designed for aftermarket rims with the thinner area for the lugs while the OEM lugs will work with the OEM rims since they have a larger area to seat/secure. Their seat is different, you can do a search on it for more info if you want. There is also something you can buy to add on to the bottom of the OEM lug to make it like a tuner lug, kind of like an adapter incase you don't want to buy new lugs all around.

As for the choice it's really up to you on which you like and how much you want to spend. They all do the same thing and are secure to a point but if someone wants to steal your rims then lugs sure won't stop them. It'll make it more inconvenient and most ppl will just go for the easier route though.

How hard were you tightening the lugs? Are you using the proper torque on it because they should not break or strip with the factory specs on torquing the lugs.

^correct. you should be using a torque wrench, not some thing you found in the trunk.
also, there is a way to use the wheel locks. they are to be the last lugs put on and the
first lugs taken off each wheel.
