To my surprise, the dealer told me that he had just received an email from corporate stating that it is a common problem and that they have a new part for the LCD board that should fix the problem. he also said that they are extending the warranty for our radios to 7 year 100k miles. So if you payed for this repair or are being asked to pay for it, i would question the dealership.

If my car is over 100k miles, that means my warranty is voided and i will need to pay for the repair/replacement?

The extended warranty is 100,000miles or 7 yrs, whichever occurs first. So yes, you are not covered. However, there's no harm is asking for a Goodwill gesture from the dealer or contacting Acura Customer Care. Sometimes the dealer or Acura will cover the labour and you pay for the parts (or partial cost of the parts).

So even though if the circuit board is fried and the lights are gone, the A/C and Stereo controls and operations can still function?

Is there like a button to press to turn on or off the center console light? Also I looked in the manual and I am unsure which fuse is related to the lights for the center console. I want to know if I blown and fuse or the circuit actually fried because I dont want to get charged for inspection if nothing is wrong with my circuit board.

If you are talking about the back-lighting of all the buttons, they turn on when you turn your light-stalk on the left of the steering wheel. In regards to the fuse, if you have navi, it's under-dash fuse #32 7.5A, non-navi #30 7.5A.

Excellent! Thanks to this forum I had the info to get my circuit board and center console checked and sure enough the circuit board was fried and they replaced it for free since it was under the warranty (Only had 111,000 km). They also washed my car which was very dirty hehe.

LoL
After having the PCB replaced once.... about 7 months later, the whole stereo is now completely dead, thank god the hvac still works... display is broken on that, but at least I can use the heat/AC somewhat.
