Various issues.....Info needed

ok so i have had my accord for about 2 months now.

Bought it with 52k on its got 55k on now, i have changed oil (0-50) and filter (K&N)
Now the previous two owners were old people so the car never got revved over 4k, i have since had a few goes up and down the rev band up to 7k a few times blah blah blah.

Anyway, i did a long journey across the UK mostly sat at 3k to 3.5k anyways checked my oil and it hadnt moved.
Had a random race with a corsa VXR the other night, checked oil today and its gone down a little bit.

What an earth could this be? i dont apprciate my car going through oil.

My second problem is my engine sounds a bit well i'll describe it as a gurgle...when i put my foot down about half way at 3kish it sounds like gurgling, i think its my air filter though as i need to change it and when i took it out to test the sound went away.

And finally if i down shift to highish rev's it sounds really rattley until i put my foot down.
My oil is clean i've had cam cover off no scoring clutch is good, its been looked after got all service history its never been abused so im just unsure.

oh and another radom problem thats occured today, if im creeping at about 3-8mph it sounds like a creaking from my drivers wheel....sounds like my breaks are biting a bit actually but im not sure.

Most folks won't post unless they can really help you. My only comment it that you put in a rather heavy oil for a presumably cold climate. US spec is 5W-30. It's actually rather hard to find 40+ weight oil around here. Burning a quart of oil every 5000 miles or so is within factory limits from my conversations with Acura techs; your results may vary. Give us a little more detail on the steering wheel sound

hi thanks for getting back to me.

The oil is within spec i have talked to various people and so on....i also found that it has been burning oil due to it been ran round like a granny car and i have since broke in the final rev range.
As far as the noise goes its from my drivers front wheel...it sounds like when you sit with your breaks barely on and they creak/knock.
Best way i could say was it sounds like a cracked spring knock but its not my spring on suspension also it goes away when i brake. or go above 12mph.
