2 issues - please help
Hello everyone,
I am having an issue with the trunk. I have done some searches but don't seem to find what I'm looking for. My trunk will pop open from the lever(next to driver seat), but it won't work with my keyfob. i called Acura, and they want me to bring it in. I don't have a warranty anymore, so I just wanted to know if there are a couple of things that it might be.
Thanks,

1. Did you check the locking switch (for the trunk) that is inside your glove box?
2. Does your outside trunk button (on the exterior of the trunk) work (when all doors are unlocked)?
Reference threads:
Should be a post from me telling you how to test the trunk release actuator in one of these.

The links talk about the switch assembly, but the trunk opens fine, its just not opening with the keyfob.

For what it's worth, my trunk button (on the keyfob) always required me to press and hold for about 1-3 secs. Since day one.

There is a button above the license plate that is an electronic switch to open the trunk. See if it works....

The trunk opens with 2 mechanisms:
1. Manual/mechanical trunk release. The lever which your gas door is also setup on.
2. Electronic/Actuator. Same logic as your door lock knob. It has both manual (via key) and power door lock (actuator) to unlock. Your trunk uses a similar setup to release via the keyfob or the exterior trunk button.
Those links refer to the exterior trunk switch/button. The electronic aspect (#2).

ok, so i tried a couple of things.
I found the button in the glove box, it was set to off. I set it to 'ON'. when I have the trunk open, and I press the keyfob button, it makes a sound like it works. But when it is closed, it doesn't do anything. The button that is by my license plate doesn't do anything as well.

Make sure your Driver front door lock actuator is actually locking. If it doesn't lock, neither will the trunk. I had to take mine to the dealership, and the only thing they said, was that "someone" removed the kickpanel and didn't put it back in properly. I told him BS, but screw it, it's fixed.

wassup Rob, let me know what the dealership tells you.
i tried locking the latch on the side of the driver seat and it locks. so that isn't the issue.
