Buddy Club N+ or Tein Basic / S.S?
Hello everyone, i am new to forums and modding cars. The first thing i want to do with my car is a drop. I've done some research on coilover kits, but i cant seem to decided which should i get. Also, i heard good things about Buddy Club and Teins that they are both close to stock comfort. However, i was about to order Tein basics from marcus at heeltoe, there was an option of adding the top hats for tein basics. My question is, what is the point of adding the top hats? when Buddy Club N+ seems to have the top hats already..and adding the top hats for tein basic would cost around the same as buddy club N+...

all coilovers have top hats included already, so you dont need to buy an extra kit.
If you just want it for the drop, basics are the solution. If you want the damper adjustability or really slam your car, then you should pay more for the N+

can someone confirm whether or not the basics actually come with top hats? I've been shopping around and as far as I know I just need the basics and a camber kit..

This is not true. Not all coilovers kits come with Tophats.
Most websites will show the tophats as an option. This means the coilovers do not come with tophats.
Heetoe Auto's excellent website shows this exactly:
The Tein Basics do NOT come with tophats:
Tein Suspension BASIC Coilover-Damper Kit, 04+ CL9 Acura TSX DSA64-LUSS2 - HeelToe Automotive
The Buddy Club N+ DO come with aftermarket top hats (also called pillow mounts):
Buddy Club N+ Damper Kit TSX 03-up, BC02-NP03CL9 - HeelToe Automotive
As someone mentioned, do some more research. The Heeltoe website is laid out very well with the suspension options & info.
Heeltoe Honda Tech and Project Center - 04-08 TSX Coilover Comparo
I hope this helps ....Joe

i just got them from marcus couple days ago and i love them...seriously best bang for buck...
also since its adjustable you can change the quality of ride whenever you want plus these babies go pretty LOW..(had to raise it cuz rubbing was so bad it flared out my fender _ _")
right now i'm riding on pretty stiff settings and handling is way better without losing that much ride comfort...
the only downside i think is that they aren't rebuildable like teins...for me it doesnt matter because i dont think i'll be driving my car THAT long...
well anyways hands down I say go for buddy clubs

the tein basics do not come with top hats you have to put your top hats from your stock struts or buy new ones, if your gonna get the basics i suggest you get the pillow ball top hats if they have them i know they have them on the ss's and for the buddy clubs im not selling them anymore though sorry but yeah i love my bc n+

Whoa, thanks for all the replys. I think im going for Teins just cause its green =). Also, i didnt know you could use the stock top hats for Tein basic. Would this be a big problem if i just want to be cheap and use the stock top hats? because adding the top hats would cost around 150? i might as well go for Buddy club or Tein S.S =\

It's not a problem to reuse them, only "problem" would be removing and installing them as it's dangerous if not done right. That was a huge reason I went with the BC N+ over the Basics since me and my boy did the install.
