Clunking / scraping noise while braking..

Got this weird noise coming from the front. I took the front end apart, and everything looks okay.

It doesn't happen at high speed, so high way no problem. Low speed 2-10mph, while slowing down with brakes, it sometimes make this clunking sound from the front end.

The brake pads are still pretty thick, rotor is a year old.. I do have new rotors & pads coming.. but I dont think it's the brakes..

Any ideas ?

does it make the clunking sound going over bumps at low speed?

Make sure the brake pad hardware is still intact and that the contact points are greased, otherwise you'll probably get a clicking noise when the pads shift around.

By hardware I mean the metal clips that install on the caliper bracket which hold the brake pad in place.

I will tell you what I've had problems with. The damn battery tray.
It has been a source of clunking in the front which I thought was a wheel bearing or something.

As it turns out, one of the bottom bolts was loose. Now I just put in a Injen CAI and I have a noise again. It looks like it's just vibration of the CAI tube against the sheet-metal from the engine getting loaded under deceleration.

Just some of the not so major clunking issues I've had with my TSX.

Ill check it out, does not make sound on bumps at all.

Lugs are good, i took the brakes apart, they're all still good.. ill check the tray, if nothing else, ill drop it off at the dealers... and let them figure it out

Time to change brakes, get an alignment and wheel balance
