Hey folks, my 2004 is driving me nuts lately because of the vibration on the steering wheel. It vibrates when i pass 60 mph, I tried wheel balance and alignment, none of them help, it can't be a bent rim, anyone have any idea whats the cause ? any help will be much appreciated, thx in advance !

It can be a few things, axles, breaks, rims and ball joints.

cheezthis is neutral and has a clean balanced record.

Check rotors...
Check tires for if they're flat-spotted or are just junk. The best way is to swap front wheels with the rear and so on, if the problem "moves", you have a pretty good idea that it's tire or wheel based.
Check ball joints...if it pops when you move from a stop and pops when you come to a complete stop, good chance those are bad (upper or lower).
Axles...very similar to ball joints, but a lower pitched thunk, and also audible during turns too.

Just a few thoughts...it's a process of elimination.

If it's the axles, yes.

losothefatso can only hope to improve, or face mass condemn.

Check the wheel bearings. That's what vibrations usually mean.

I'm in the same boat right now. My next step is rotors and if that doesn't help a wheel swap and finally just change the axles.
