yeah im starting to think 19s would have been the better choice in looks after looking at it a couple days. 19s and 40 profile tire would be good fit. also depends on the design of the wheels. if there's a lip then 19s would look better. if no lip, i'd say 18s.

I've been looking at tires all morning and what I've come up with is this:

1) I want a tire that will grip the road in any condition but especially wet conditions, 2) I want a tire that's gonna last more than a year (or at the very least come with a manuf. warr. of at least 40k miles), and 3) I want a tire that's quiet and comfortable.

I drive my TSX like I think it was intended to be driven, and I want a tire that will hold up to that, and meet my expectations. And yes, cost is definately an object, but only to some extent, and certainly not in matters of safety. Oh, and I wont compromise excitement for safety. Meaning, I'm not gonna be cheap and then have to change my driving habits so I don't crash or destroy the tires.

I used to run Goodyear TripleTreds on my other car. It was very sporty, and I drove it like so. Those tires were awsome! On a scale of 1-10 I'd say at least a 9.9. And they rate #1 on Consumer Reports and at Tire Rack, for "performance" type tires. Oh, I drove them for over 20k miles and there was no visable treadwear. They come with an 80k mil warr. Only problem is, they only come in 18's, and only in 50 series. I was hoping to go to either a 40, or maybe a 35 series tire. I think 30 would be to risky for city driving, rail road tracks, pot-holes etc.

I always start with Tire Rack and then cross reference what they say with Consumer Reports. From there I turn to forums, reviews, etc.

Nitto makes a serious tire, the Invo, and it's wild looking, but no treadwear warr. What's up with that? I used to go through the same thing with my truck. If I wanted a tire to get the job done, I had to sacrifice on the "cost to own" end of the deal. When you start laying down a G+ a year for tires you have to step back and say "wait a minute." I drive the TSX approximately 20k miles a year. I need a tire that's gonna last for at least 2 years. If I can find that, then we're talking about 400 a year. That's a great "cost to own" price for something you can rely on.

Oh, BTW, I saw this:

Nitto Invo 225/40ZR19 XL 93Y B for $208. a tire @ Discount Tire, and the reviews are great. Some say they've gotten more miles than expected.

I like the Dunlop Sport Signature 245/35/20 @ 210. ea, it's not a bad deal but no treadlife warr.

So I'm kinda stuck. Get a decent tire in the size I want and no warr. or get something smaller in a lesser speed rating and I can get the warr I want.

Oh well.

Sweet ride Dude!!! I still think the Grigio is the most unique color option. What color are those wheels!? What are the wheel and tire specs please.
Thanks, yea, even 19's look almost lost unless you drop it I guess. Maybe i will have to bite the bullet and just get it done when they do the wheels. Can it be done with just springs or do you need to replace the shocks/struts too. Oh, and no one has answered my question about reprogramming the computer on cars for taller tires. It can be done on trucks. I know that. Damn, it looks good!

they are 19x8 Honda Factory Performance wheels. I have 235/30/19 tires on them which are really low profile. I will be changing them to 245/40/19 after the winter is over (ill be running stock wheels for the winter)

as far as lowering, I have a set of Eibach springs (they are not installed yet). You can go the spring route or you can do coilovers. I would not recommend going too low, like the Tein S techs on stock shocks as it could cause them to wear prematurely. But with H&R, Eiabch, or Progress with 1" - 1.2" drop you will be good.

if you are looking for rims 19" are really the way to go on 2nd gens. before i got these I was debating between these and infinity M45 sport rims, which look really great too! I prefer going with OEM wheels as a pose to some aftermarket wheels because they generally will not bend as easy as some of the cheap wheels. Forged wheels are another good strong wheel material.

i have noticed my gas millage has gone down about 1-2 mpg with the 19's ...ill post up more pictures after i install the springs
