I've removed my Intake Resonator and I have to say performance feels exactly the same. In my opinion, people claiming to gain horse power is just a placebo effect, think about it - a real intake adds maybe 5hp and removing your resonator isn't nearly as efficient; it just increases air flow slightly as well as sound. As far as losing power... I just don't see that as realistic either. Like I said, it adds sound but performance feels the same to me.
I wouldn't even waste your time doing it in two sections, it only took me 20 minutes to remove the whole thing and I left the wheel on. But its your car, so... What rubber elbow? The one that connects the resonator box to the air filter box or the tube that comes off the front of the resonator and goes to the front grille area?
