I had a header installed first and I sure felt some gain, but mine is 05 and has the most restrictive cat ever, so it was hard to feel much of a gain. After I installed the cat, gains were very sweet. I dont see why u upgraded 06 cat tho
Its far less restrictive than 04-05 cats are.
On a side note... I wish my RT cat had those tabs for heatshield
