Just use dino oil (regular oil). The reason I think it's better then synthetic is you change it out alot more often with the filter. I woudn't worry about using expensive filters either. I change my oil every 3months on the dot. I dont drive more than 1,500 miles in that time period. I use 5w-30 Castrol anti sludge with a Fram filter. I see it this way the more often you change it, the better. I have 67k on my car and even after 3months of hard driving it still comes out looking clean.

We have a family 96 accord with 250k, we always used castrol oil with any filter since brand new. The car still runs like brand new, doesn't drip or leak oil, and pulls just like it did with the same gas consumption as day one.

Personally I think synthetic is for the track or for a car that recomends it.
