honestly automatics are great for higher horsepower levels not at the level that most of us would want. i persoanlly preffer manual in every vehicle i own on the street. i have much more control over how the car react. almost all my car have been either heavily modded or turbocharged. the manual allows me to engage me powerband however i like it for a specific moment and also disengage it without waiting for a computer to determine wether i want to upshift or downshift which. the AT in our cars is not that strong either wi dont know the breaking point but from honda's previous rep i dont think it will do for my needs. to to mention the extra 10% of power loss there will be from stick with the manual trabnsmission.
the weight loss was also a major factor in going manual. there is almost a 200lbs difference in the weight of the manual magnesium case versus the automatic transmission. my car is now significantly lighter thus making it also faster. now i have less weight to haul around and more torque to do it with.
i can put together a parts list for anyone interested but keep in mind the AT and MT TSX carry 2 different firewalls. so there is actaully no spot to mount the clutch laster cylinder. i had to use the original hole the front cabin harness went through and make a new hole for the harness right next to it. i also make a 1/2" reinforcement plate so the the firewall would not flex from me stepping on the pedal. I next make a new upper braket and welded it to the top of the firewall. real simple nothing complicated. the upper brakes eliminates anyflexing of the pedal just like the factory has it in the MT chassis.
other than that all you need is the following:
MT lower tranny mounts
MT clutch master & slave complete assembly
MT clutch pedal assembly
MT transmission 6 Speed or Accord 5 Speed
these are the main components youll need. as far as wiring goes its up to you. i already have Navi in my car and the donor car came with navi as well so i just swapped the dash harness to make the job quicker as far as the. you can continue to run the automatic cluster if you want to you might as well swap it for a manual eventually.
