Don't do it if you're planning to drive through deep water or if you want a really quiet intake. Other than that remove it and your car is 3 pounds lighter. The resonator is really restrictive. It's like drinking through a tiny straw.

I would leave the black tubes in place so that the air box has access to the "cooler" air behind your bumper cover.
