As some of you know, I run RT cat with a defouler on my car. I have had it installed since February of this year and CEL never came on. Last weekend I decided to fill up my car and see how many more... Hey guys and girls, in the last few days I have experienced an interesting case of CEL appearance. As some of you know, I run RT cat with a defouler on my car. I have had it installed since February of this year and CEL never came on. Last weekend I decided to fill up my car and see how many more miles I can go if I drive carefully and stay below 2500 rpms all the time. So.... after 200 miles on only half a tank, the CEL came on! I was going to do what the others always do and disconnect the battery for a few minutes. Before I got around to doing that, I was was driving my car down the street and approached a stoplight. It turned yellow, and I forgot about the MPG thing, stepped on the pedal and revved it to 4.5-5k rpms @ 2/3 of the throttle. Guess what..... CEL is no more!!! :woot:


In my theory, my super careful driving and the defouler left the CO2 sensor with little stream of exhaust gas, so the ECU thought something was wrong. Then I stepped on it and ECU realized that everything works as it should and turned off the CEL.
