Apex Driving Academy MSR 9/26

I am going out to MSR Cresson on 9/26 with Apex Driving Academy. They will be checking me out to see if I can be an instructor with them. I think Novice is already full, but if you want to check them out in the future give me a shout.

good luck at the track. I would go, but I just went with driver's edge this weekend. It rained all weekend, but I did get to pick on some fast RWD sports cars. I've never ran with Apex, let me know how everything was, I am interested in running with them.

I am hoping for no rain either. If you are bored and want to come to watch that would be cool also. Not sure if I can give rides (I doubt it).

Had to take care of something this past weekend, therefore, I will be at MSR on 10/10/09 with Apex.

The Apex guys are really cool. I did an "interview" with them and should be instructing with them next year. God blessed us with a dry, but cool, day yesterday. However, MSR had a "river" running across it before "Richochet" and after "Rattlesnake" (we did the 1.7 CW). So the rivers + cold + V710 = slipping and sliding at times. All in all, a fun day.

What kind of driving experience do you have? How did you like MSR, besides the running water?

My driving experience:
Track days since 1999, raced one year in 2004 (H2 NASA Mid-Atlantic), and autocrossed since 2000. I have driven/raced on the following tracks:
Virginia International Raceway
Summit Point
Watkins Glen
Pocono
Carolina Motorsports Park
Beaver Run
Gingerman
Texas World Speedway
MSR Cresson

Owned:
98 GSR
00 Type R
90 & 99 Miata
02 S2000
06 TSX (only car now, the Daddy mobile or Family Car, as I call it)

I like MSR. The 1.7, 1.3 and 3.1 all have different character. The 1.7 is a flowing track that rewards patience and basic driving skill (late turn in, patience, early throttle application, ignoring fear etc.). The 3.1 takes the 1.7 and adds some technical turns. I haven't yet driven the 1.3 by itself. The track is fun, not as much elevation changes as VIR or The Glen, but similar to Summit Point in skill level.

I didn't think I would like the 1.7 CW, but I do and it is fun. I "feel" 1.7 CCW is faster, but I think I am wrong. I believe they are similar.
