NJ Shop Rec for CT Header Install?
I'm in Monmouth County, NJ... can anyone recommend a good shop (i.e., one that they have personal experience with and/or would bring their own TSX to)?
I'd probably have them put in a new cat at the same time...

to be completely honest. almost any exhaust shop could do the job bc honda platforms are very mod friendly. especially with the horizontal layout of our engine.

If you don't want to do it yourself (and in the rust belt, it can be a pain for us) any shop should be able to get this done in an hour. With a lift and air tools, there's no excuse to not be able to.
I would recommend making a trip out to CT and hitting up Excelerate. They know the TSX platform intricately and have always done great work on my car.

I get my work done at E-Shift Performance in Cliffwood Beach on RT-35. That's Middlesex County not too far from you. Let me know if you want to give them a try. PM me for details.

Thanks all... I'd do the work myself, but I took a look under the car the other day, and my bolts are looking gnarly rusted. I just moved into a new house. In my last house, my garage and driveway were perfectly level. Jacking the whip up onto stands and working underneath was a piece of cake. My new driveway is fairly pitched, so it's not so simple. I'd have to try to work somewhere on the street, and that would be a pain.
Audio - I've been meaning to take a ride out to Josh for some time, but it's a bit of a trip. I've picked up a few parts from him over the years.
Det - long time no speak man. Thanks for the rec --- I'll definitely give them a shot when I get the header in. It's a shame that shop in Edison (Stage 2 Performance?) closed shop so quickly... I went there on your rec YEARS ago! Btw, I saw you finally dropped some of your vid on the forum. I still have those "interview" snippets from one of Jay's meets.

Hey all... I got a quote from one of the local shops (TSXDet... Mike @ E-Shift) for $225-270 for a header and cat install --- 2.5-3 hrs @ $90 per hour. $90 sounds like the going rate I generally hear from most shops... is a header/cat install 2.5-3 hrs worth of work?

Another guy from the same shop e-mailed me and now tells me that a header-cat install (with me providing the parts) will cost me approximately $600. That sounds crazy to me for a bolt-on job, but then again... I usually try to do the work myself, so it may not be unrealistic.
Does that sound *reasonable* to anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

Why would two people from the same shop give you two seperate prices so far apart? $90 an hour is about average. I know most shops here in MD charge about $80 - 95 an hour depending on how many middle men you are dealing with. Look up header replacement online e how or how it works or something like that just google it you can get a good feel on how hard the joba ctually is from there youc an decide whether or not its worth it to pay. I mean worse case scenario you can bring it down here to MD and we can go to the shop I got access to for $3 an hour + $3 an hour for the lift, and all the tools you could ever imagine :-P

Our rate is $85/hr and to install a header and cat on the TSX will take no longer than 2 hours.
