Exclamation McCain wants to postpone debate and campaign

Is he getting cold feet? He's using the current economic situation as a pretext to ask Obama to postpone Friday's debate and even put the campaign on hold... WTF? Neither one of them can do anything at this stage. It's up to Congress to decide!

Can't find a source yet but I've just heard the breaking news on a Montreal news radio station.

LOL McCain is going to kill Barry, especially since teleprompters are not allowed in debates.

BTW, McCain is still a Senator and he is talking about the pending vote on this economic matter...he is taking it seriously...as he should!

Am I mistaken or is this a decision that will be taken by Congress, not the Senate?

so how will taking out two hours of time on a Friday night to debate
stop these two from getting their work done or whatever on this financial problem?

the American public doesn't deserve a debate this Friday?
the candidates can't talk about it or what?
we don't have a right to hear them debate? until after they
shove this bailout down our throats and walk away with our money?

and why can't Nader get a voice in anything here?

you guys are all Obama vs. McCain...
please.

they both suck and are no good for our country.
see how alike they are below:

Your welcome! Don't feel bad...I had to explain that to an American recently as well.

The problem now is that McCain is SCREWED with his proposed tax cuts... He won't be able to afford them (Barry neither for that matter) and has to rethink his entire economic platform. And economics is not his forté... He's simply trying to buy time before his team of experts can come up with something else...

Sorry, the debate that is supposed to be this Friday is on foreign policy, and has nothing to do with the economic issues so he isn't really trying to buy time hes trying to do his job that he was elected to do.

It wouldn't just be 2 hours out of their time. The debate is scheduled to be held in Mississippi, which means that it would be at least a full day of time getting there and getting setup. Time that at this point McCain believes is better spent working on getting a bipartisan fix for the economic issues through congress.

actually congress stated that they don't need either
Senator to be present for help, they're very close to a resolution
without either being there.

something funny is going on.
John McCain was supposed to be on Letterman.
He canceled.

Called Leterman himself to apologize, told him he needed to hop a
plane to Washington to work on this problem.

He lied.

He called from another CBS studio in fact.
He was talking with Katie Couric.

He won't be leaving NY 'till tomorrow to go to Washington.

David Letterman was pissed, and he's airing his complaints on
his show from what I hear. Even telling McCain he'd personally
give him a ride to the airport if he needed to leave town right away.
I guess Letterman doesn't like being lied to.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XjkCrfylq-E

And the debate is on.
Both Obama and the private corporation that is the debate commission
have called bullshit on McCain. The debate is on and Obama is showing up.
As of this post that is accurate info.

Is this all because of his campaign manager being busted for the
Freddie Mac lobbying money? Is this just yet another distraction?

If Obama can multi-task, why can't McCain? What's wrong with him?
Suspend his campaign? The de-regulator wants to stop campaigning to
regulate? I'm just confused. Something is up his sleeve, something is happening.

and by the way, the debate, on foreign policy is now on the economy.
they changed the topic. they said they will also cover some foreign policy issues,
but they will focus on the economy.

He still needs to come up with a new economic plan for his campaign... He knows he's screwed, that his tax cuts won't fly now, he has to come up with something...

I liked Barry's reply: a president is expected to be able to handle several things at once, so I don't see the need to cancel the debate.

Probably 9PM EST and I'm sure it will find its way onto the internet (YouTube). You need to get a DVR (Tivo)!
