had both, currently running Comptech. Far better header... as long as you dont have an automatic tranny.

I read a review that compares the DC to the Comptech. They're almost the same performance wise in low RPMs, but as it gets towards the high end the Comptech has a noticeable performance gain. So Comptech is better but also more expensive.

Here's the review:

J's Racing header doesn't have flex pipe and requires either a JDM cat or J's Racing CL7 test pipe because the header was initially designed for CL7. Performance should be the best with this header because J's Racing is specialized in tuning Hondas and their S2000 parts showed significant gains against other competing brands.

Toda Header and test pipe combo is great for the money. I know someone that has it and when they installed the combo, it shifted the exhaust towards to back of the car. So there is a slight problem with fitment. As for performance, I was pretty impressive.

Mugen header and cat combo is the most expensive out of all. Mugen is known for develop nice aero parts and what not. I believe that it's performance parts (exhaust, header, etc) is not too performance-oriented and might be leaning to the more conservative side. I am not sure, but Toda and J's Racing are more involved in racing and tuning in Japan. It's definately a nicely built, quality header but it is alot of money.

Another header you may consider is Maxim Works (M-Bit Japan). It is identifical to what HondaTwinCam Japan sells. There is a model for CL7, and for CL9. You can search around and find minimal info about the header. I know someone that has this header and the gains are nice.

DC is more bang for the buck, cheaper construction because it is ceramic. It has a common problem with flex pipe (only version 1--early batch) and hissing sound from flex pipe design. Comptech is stainless steel with TIG welds, prevents rusting and corrosion. Gains are about the same except Comptech maintains power until redline. It has a common problem with vibrations with automatic vehicles.

If you are serious about power extraction, consider the Japan made header if you don't mind paying more.

Just wondering what if you already have a testpipe like the T1R's and you decide to go J's header, will the T1R still work properly with the header or you must use J's own test pipe? And if you do how much does it run for, doesnt say on the website or i couldnt find it.

If you already have the T1R test pipe (designed for North American CL9 spec), then it will only work with factory header setup or aftermarket header like DC Sports, Comptech, Top Speed, OBX, etc. If you were to go with J's Racing header, you MUST change to their CL7 (Japan spec) test pipe from J's Racing in order to make it work. You can also locate a Japan spec CL7 cat or even do some custom work with the T1R test pipe to make things work.

With test pipe or even other piping, custom work is possible to make things happen. It is probably the easiest to get the J's Racing header with their own CL7 test pipe. Then it would just be a direct bolt-on and fitment will be top-notch.

Ahhh....Thank you very much for the info, but will the J's test pipe be as good as the
T1R also or will their be any difference at all.

Sorry for going off topic, but i say comptech all the way unless you have auto cause of the rattle i heard its get hella annoying and i heard DC sometimes crack, but i would follow wut tsx604 get, pay a lil more get something more durable and worth it. You get what you pay for, thats what ppl always tell me. And yea i think Weapon R makes a Header also you can check them out also.

Is the rattle that bad on the Comptech?? my Accord is auto is it really bad or loud, does it sound like the car is gonna fall apart or can u hear it from the outside??

And can you tell me if anything can happen when you ft a new header?
eg..when I fitted a high flow cat I had the engine light come on cos of the sensor not reading right so im having to get a de-fouler. So could anything like that happen when the header is replaced?
