First Interview
Well this is my first job interview EVER and as you can imagine, I'm kind of excited yet nervous. I have an interview tomorrow at 12 pm so if anybody can provide me some tips or suggestions that would be GREAT. It'll be based on a GROUP interview so I don't know how to deal with that. I've never been a great talker but I can chalk this up as an experience if I don't get it. btw it's at kohls. Thanks all for the help!

be at least 15 mins EARLY!!make sure you shower and dont stink up the room with too much cologne...also, another thing that helps me, is do a little mock interview with your friends....have them set up some questions to ask you...and even though they're just your friends asking the questions, try to keep it serious....that way it'll be easier for you tomorrow...

I've never done a group interview before so can't really comment on that. I've done like 20 individual interviews and just be confident. You can pretty much guess what they're gonna ask you so just prepare some answers. When you answer the questions, don't make it sound rehearsed but be confident, articulate, and concise. I never put on any cologne, if you do, just a hint. Deodorize. Get a haircut. Shave. Brush.
If it's your first time, you really can't expect to do well at the interview, so don't get your hopes up. If anything, LEARN from this interview so you can rock the next one.
The first time I ever had an interview, I sucked and I didn't get the job (no one ever does), but I learned alot. By my 3rd interview, at the end of it, the interviewer told me she would get to me in a few days and I told her that I can't wait a few days because of another offer, and she told me on the spot she'd hire me.
So if you don't get the job, just learn from this interview.

yeah I don't really have my hopes up in getting the job but my friend works there so maybe he can put in a good word for me. I don't plan to put on cologne just some deodorant with a dress shirt/pants/tie.

I've done about 14-15 job interviews myself, and Vortec gave some good tips. Group interviews IMO rarely tell the whole story of the candidate so don't focus too much on it. There, they just want to get to know the applicant and make sure you're not like a weirdo or anything. They'll ask some general questions and see how you respond. Try to predict what they'll ask about googling some common interview questions. After that, they'll probably meet with you individually to talk more about you. If you have a friend that works there, they should talk to Human Resources prior to your interview, so they can expect you. Plus, he may get a referral bonus.
